![]() ![]() Incredible's arc seemed to center on a twist everyone already saw coming with a villain that had no charisma. The roles are reversed and it's STILL about his struggle to accept his family role, but there's no "I'm not strong enough" moment to give it any emotional weight. However, thematically the plot is an inferior copy of the original. I enjoyed my time with it, and there were times I was laughing uncontrollably. I just don’t get any of the hype and I felt really let down. How the powers interacted and could be used (like elaticgirls motorcycle and voids fight against violet) were very clever and clearly very well thought out. The fight scenes that showed off Pixar’s talent. ![]() ![]() The big “twist” was super obvious the whole movie (why would the ScreenSlaver even know ElasticGirl was in the city to taunt unless it was the Deavors). The whole raccoon baby fight scene was from a completely different movie like right out of a Itchy and Scratchy cartoon. Maybe Mr Incredible feels that parenting is hard? The family doesn’t get any better as a team besides not everyone ditching the baby during a fight? Dash’s big contribution for the end was to press a button. ![]() None of the characters grow or change in a significant way from beginning to end. The action and animation was top notch but that story and character development was awful. It’s sitting at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and I was so excited to finally watch it tonight, but it just wasn’t good. ![]()
